Jennifer Little returned to DuHadway Dance Dimensions to set choreography for senior soloist Alynne Welch and first year trio of Brenna Bigelow, Reagan Avery and Gwen Breidinger.

This will be Alynne’s second solo set by Jenn, as she had a lot of success with her piece “Sweater Weather” last season. Alynne says her favorite genre is lyrical and she is super excited to start working on her senior piece.

Miss Jenn will be back the weekends of September 17 and 23/24 to set two small group jazz pieces on DDD’s junior/teen level dancers.

Jennifer Little’s Bio

Miss Jenn attended CMU and was a member of the student contemporary company, Orchesis Dance Theatre, which afforded her the opportunity to further her dance education.  While with Orchesis, Jenn had the chance to travel and attend the American Collegiate Dance Festival. As she progressed through her years at CMU, she started experimenting with choreographing for Orchesis and realized her true passion was teaching. She spent several years teaching at DuHadway Dance Dimensions, teaching recreational classes and ultimately focusing her teaching on the competitive students and developing a hip hop program.

Once Jenn received her degree in Public Health Education and Health Promotion from CMU she moved to Charleston South Carolina. Upon moving, she became certified through the Dance Masters of America organization. She is certified in Tap, Jazz, and Modern and has also held office within the organization. She soon became the Director of Programs at a local studio while being solely responsible for the competitive team as well as overseeing all the teaching staff and classes.

While teaching in South Carolina, Jenn earned 19 choreography awards at competitions including Hollywood Vibe, West Coast Dance Explosion, and Dance Masters of America. She also had several students hold the titles of Petite Miss Dance of South Carolina, Teen Miss Dance of South Carolina, and Miss Dance of South Carolina all with the Dance Masters of America organization.

Throughout her time in South Carolina, Jenn taught master classes and set competition numbers at various studios across the country. After 8 years in the south, Jenn decided to make the move back to family and back to Metro Detroit! She is now teaching at Rhythm Pointe Dance Academy.
