Mr. Charlie took Elite dancers Katy Arnold, Emma Buschle, Mackenzie Houghton, Taylor Murphy and Chloe McKinley for an afternoon of master tap classes at Center Stage Dance Company in Northville. The Detroit Tap Repertory hosted master teachers Aubrey Cheek and Vikas Arun Sunday.
Aubrey Cheek is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer based in New York City. She was one of 25 dancers accepted into the 2017 Jacob’s Pillow Tap Program. She is a graduate of Pace University.
Vikas Arun is a professional dancer originally from Seattle, WA specializing in both tap and contemporary dance. He has appeared on TV shows such as So You Think You Can Dance, in movies such as Breaking Brooklyn, and on stage at famous venues such as Lincoln Center with renowned companies such as Chloe Arnold’s Apartment 33 and Cat Cogliandro’s Catastrophe! He is currently living in New York City where he is completing his M.S. at Columbia University as part of the prestigious Gartland Fellowship. (https://www.vikasarun.com/)
