The community is rallying around a longtime local dance instructor to help raise money for her medical bills. A performing arts variety show is being planed to benefit Kathy Francis at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Alma College’s Heritage Center. An “Afterglow” gathering will take place from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at the Highland Blush downtown. Donations will be taken at both locations to help defray her medical expenses.

Kathy Francis, who founded the Academy for Performing Arts in downtown Alma in 1993, suffered a major stroke on May 2.

DuHadway Dance Dimensions is honored to be invited and share in this special community event. Please consider joining us and helping Kathy and her family. DDD dancers will perform Rogue River and Lindsay Abell will perform her tap solo “Hold On”.
