Owner / Artistic Director
Miss Jillian DuHadway has been the owner of DuHadway Dance Dimensions since 1992. Miss Jillian’s dance training began at the age of three when her mother decided to enroll her in dance to help with shyness.
After moving from Cleveland to the U.P. of Michigan, she traveled to Canada 4-5 days a week to continue lessons at the Trixie Hardy Studio in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. There she became associated with the British Assoc. of Teachers of Dance and earned teaching certificates in both tap and jazz.
She also attained honors marks in ballet exams with the B.A.T.D. Jillian was a competitive dancer, earning first-place finishes with her competition team as a student.
Miss Jillian holds Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University. While at CMU she was introduced to the Cecchetti Method of Ballet by Linda Lee Abbott. She taught dance for Linda Lee for three years while completing her teaching degree. After graduation, she returned and purchased the studio, working closely with Linda Lee to maintain consistency for the 120 students in attendance at that time. While determined to rebuild a studio that had once thrived with over 350 students, she trained to earn her Cecchetti Elementary professional teacher certification and maintained membership with the West Michigan Chapter of the Cecchetti Council. She served as Committee Chairperson for a two year term. Each year she trains her students in the tradition of Enrico Cecchetti and sends them for ballet examinations in the method. In addition, Miss Jillian directs the DDD Elite competitive dance team which she founded in 2000. The team consists of members age 7-18. Past teams have earned high awards at both regional and national levels. One of the concentrations of the DDD Elite team is community service. Miss Jillian, her students, staff and parents seek out community performances, service projects and more throughout each year.
Miss Jillian returned to the performance stage in 2017 when she became a member of Tap 24.7 professional tap company based out of Phoenix Arizona. Under the direction of Suzy Hall, Jillian has performed in Unlocking the Tapestry in 2017/Phoenix, Big Apple Tap Fest/New York City in August 2017, Tapspeak/Phoenix in May 2018, Motor City Tap Fest/Detroit in August of 2018 and Tapspeak in the D in November 2018. She loves performing and knows it has made her an even better teacher. The added bonus is that she is a member of the company with her son Charlie. Miss Jillian keeps up her training and stays on the cutting edge of the ever changing dance world by attending workshops in all dance styles regularly, studying online and reading educational materials daily.
In addition to her role as Artistic Director of DDD, Miss Jillian was invited to judge for several dance competitions in 2017. She is a member of the judging staff of Spotlight Dance Cup and AMP dance competitions. She utilizes her years of experience and knowledge to assist dancers across the country during April and May and is looking forward to her second season as a judge.
Miss Jillian considers one of her biggest accomplishments to be her staff at DDD. 10 of the staff members at DDD are “home grown” and grew up under her teaching. She also has a teacher assistant training program for her younger dancers to help groom them for jobs later in life.
DuHadway Dance Dimensions was featured in an article in Dance Teacher magazine. Jillian and her husband, Rob, work together closely to maintain their mission of “fun with a purpose”. Jillian enjoys teaching children of all ages and is very proud to have instructed her own children. Charlie is a DDD staff member and professional dancer/choreographer. Her daughter Maddy is a dance/psychology major at GVSU in Grand Rapids Michigan.
