Elite Artistic Team Choreographer
Miss Laura has been dancing at DuHadway Dance Dimensions since she was 2 years old. She progressed through her early training to become a member of the Elite Team for 12 years. Miss Laura has trained in highland dance at Mid Michigan Highland Dance Academy since the age of 3. She holds an Associates degree in Highland Dance instruction that she earned at age 15.
Miss Laura completed her student Grade V Elementary Cecchetti ballet exam at age 14 and has also passed her teacher Grades I through IV exams from the summer of 2015-2018.
Throughout her dance career, Miss Laura has competed at several competitions placing in the overalls at every competition including placing first overall at Nationals during two separate seasons.
Her accomplishments in highland dance include 5th overall at the United States Inter-Regional Highland Dance Championship. Miss Laura was the first person to place in all 3 categories of Theory, Choreography, and Technique at the North American Sadie Simpson Highland Dance Scholarship competition.
She has attended master dance classes at NYCDA, West Coast, Applause, Hall of Fame, and Starquest and studied across the country and abroad attending classes in California, Illinois, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and London.
Miss Laura attended Alma College with a double major in Professional Accounting and Dance and graduated Magna Cum Laude in April of 2018 with a Bachelors of Arts. During her years of college (2014-18) she performed as a member of the Alma College Dance Company and Alma College Kiltie Dancers and was inducted into Phi Delta Chi, Alma College Dance Honorary. She also was chosen to perform and compete in the American College Dance Association East-Cental Conference from 2016-2018.
After college, Laura moved to Farmington Hills, MI working as an accountant and teaching dance. She got the opportunity to perform in Suzy Guarino-Hall’s Tap Speak and got a scholarship to attend the Detroit Tap Repertory Winter Residencies with Karen Callaway Williams and Robin Passmore. Following the residencies she joined the Detroit Tap Repertory and is excited to continue performing and taking classes.
Miss Laura loves teaching dance as much as performing and is beyond excited to continue to be a part of the DDD Elite Artistic Team.
